Home 9 Project 9 Mini Weather Station

MINI WEATHER STATION

Requirements:
– to know at regular intervals (e.g., 15 min.) data on temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure of a given environment;
– the data should be viewable from anywhere in the world using a standard cell phone browser or desktop computer;

Idrometro Heidi

Solution:
The mini weather station was built with a microcontroller with a display (specifically the M5StickC) that can be equipped with a four-sensor “hat” (temperature, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, magnetometer). The M5StickC is connected via WiFi to the Internet where it sends temperature, pressure and humidity data to an Adafruit server every 15 minutes. Here a dedicated dashboard (data display and device control panel) can be accessed via browser. Here it is also possible to
– view the trend for a specific time period (e.g., 24 or 48 hours);
– download the data in Excel or CSV format for later processing.
